It's official, White Manor is a Platform Tennis (Paddle) Club!

Paddle Tennis brings many benefits to White Manor including the opportunity for Inter-Club competition, socials and clinics along with the ability to be outdoors and active during the winter months! The Tennis complex includes six fast dry Har-Tru courts, equipped with underground water management systems. The courts are available for member and guest use from Spring to Fall, depending on weather conditions.

Play is very strong with competitive women's interclub teams, men's tennis and a highly-rated junior tennis program. Players of all levels take advantage of the many opportunities for social tennis, including round robins throughout the season, drop-in tennis nights and "Play with the Pro" events.

The Tennis Pavilion

Designed from scratch, our tennis pavilion is a special place for you and your guests to enjoy tennis' challenges, fun, friendship, and relaxation. Surrounded by mature trees, the pavilion includes six high-quality Har-Tru courts with moisture/water management, shaded seating areas, a pro shop, and café.

 

What is Platform/Paddle Tennis?

Platform tennis, also called paddle tennis, is a racquet sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is the only racquet sport that is played outdoors in cold weather. Paddle can be highly competitive or can be played purely for fun. Paddle is best described as a miniature version of tennis. The court is a fourth of the size of a tennis court. Paddles are used to hit a spongy/solid ball and many of the rules found in tennis apply (including scoring). One big difference is that in paddle the wire enclosure that surrounds the courts allows a fast-moving ball to bounce back to a player to continue the rally.
